WVBL Presidents Day - 18th June 2026
A huge thank you from the Woodplumpton Veterans Bowling League to Elswick BC and League President Phil Pickford for staging such an excellent day. Great facilities, excellent catering and help from members and spectators made this such a memorable day. Whilst the weather was mixed, ranging from glorious sunshine in the earlier rounds to heavy rain for the semi finals and final, the standard of bowling was very high.
Congratulations to John Coupe from Woodplumpton A who beat Ruth Lowe from Barton A in the final to win the Bob Sanderson Trophy.
In the semi finals John beat Bernadette Fitton from Great Eccleston and Ruth beat Kath Kilby from Lea.
Special thanks to Garry Bamber for organising the running order for the day and making the event run so smoothly.
