LEAGUE BUSINESS SECRETARY POSITION FILLED.
We are pleased to announce the position of League Business Secretary has now been filled! Peter Watson has agreed to continue with the running of the league in the background in a reduced role as Treasurer supported also by the fixture secretary. Thankfully this means the league can continue next season in it's centenary year.

League meeting dates.
Reminder of dates for league meetings: Presentation night and November league meeting will be held on Thursday 9th November 2023 at 7pm. We have received interest from two teams looking to join the league with one vacancy currently. I would encourage all teams to check with their players and confirm their participation before the November meeting to allow us to plan for the 2024 season in good time. 2024 AGM to be on Thursday 11th January 7pm Both meetings will be at Whittingham Club. Please refer to rule 8 regarding the fine for non-attendance at either meeting. Please arrange for your team to be represented to avoid a £20 fine.

PETER WATSON BUSINESS SECRETARY REDUCING ROLE.
NO INTEREST SO FAR THIS POSITION NEEDS FILLING FOR THE LEAGUE TO CONTINUE NEXT YEAR: Peter Watson has signalled his intention to reduce his involvement in the running of the Woodplumpton & District league which he has done for 25 years. For health reasons Peter wishes to resign as League Business Secretary at the end of the 2023 season but he is willing to continue as Treasurer splitting the dual roles he has held. The Secretary role is not too demanding with the main duties consisting of: producing an agenda/report for the two league meetings a year whilst also chairing the meetings (November & January) and organising the running of the President’s Day competition (June). You would be assisted by the Fixture Secretary & Treasurer. Anyone interested in the role of League Business Secretary (which comes with an honorarium) please contact Peter Watson before the league meeting in November 2023. The league is 100 years old next year and if this position is not filled the league will not be able to continue.
